PROJECT SUMMARY: 

  • Project included a PCC trail within narrow county right-of-way.
  • The right-of-way constraint required the incorporation of storm sewer, intakes, and curb & gutter on a county PCC overlaid roadway.
  • The project also included a two-span 180’ pedestrian bridge set at the location of a former railroad bridge which utilized the original limestone abutments and pier.
  • The bridge design included an overhead truss to emulate the appearance of an old railroad bridge.
  • Excess limestone blocks from the pre-existing bridge structures were incorporated into a nearby retaining wall.
  • Construction administration/observation was provided for this federally funded project.
